Make the workspace comfortable

Open Settings with ⌘,.

Appearance and text size

In Appearance, choose Light, Dark or Follow Mac, then choose an accent color. The pages you write on stay light when the surrounding workspace is dark.

Increase Text size if labels and controls are hard to read. This changes the interface. Use the script format to change the type and measurements of printed pages.

You can also hide the binder and inspector or use Focus mode with ⌃⌘F when you want more room for the script.

Spelling and scene statuses

In Writing, turn Check spelling as you type on or off. Add words or names to the Proscenium dictionary when you want the script checker to accept them. You can remove an added word here later.

The Proscenium dictionary is for scripts. Prose documents use the Mac’s spelling facilities.

Edit Scene statuses to match the way you work, then use them on scenes in the Board or Outline.

Folder and startup

General shows the selected Plays folder and lets you change what appears when the app opens. It also holds your play statuses.

Choosing a different Plays folder shows the plays in that location. To move existing work, follow Your plays and files.

For the format used by new plays, go to Formats → Start new plays in.

Reports and feedback

In Privacy, choose whether to share anonymous usage and crash reports. Read the explanation there before changing the setting.

Send Feedback is a separate action you take when you have something to tell the team. You can use it regardless of the reports setting.
