Try a guided lesson

Open Help → Tutorials and choose a lesson:

• Write Your First Exchange for cues, dialogue and directions.
• Format the Script for changing line types and page layout.
• Arrange Scenes on the Board for summaries and scene order.
• Characters and Opening Pages for the material before the first scene.
• Organize Files and Tags for working in the binder.
• Prepare a PDF or Print for checking an export.

Choose Start Tutorial. The lesson opens a practice play stored separately from your own plays, and a card appears beside the control or line it is about. Show Me does the step for you, Skip Step moves on, and More Help says more. If you wander off, Take Me There brings you back.

You can stop and return to your play. Practice work is retained, so you can continue a lesson or open its practice files later.

If the app will not open

Check that you copied Proscenium into Applications and that your Mac meets the requirements shown with the download. If macOS displays a warning, keep the exact wording and check where you obtained the copy.

Download a fresh copy from the Proscenium download page if the file is incomplete or its source is uncertain. If the problem continues, include the warning and your macOS version when reporting it through the website’s GitHub link.

If a play or edit is missing

1. Check Settings → General → Plays folder. You may be looking at a different folder.
2. Open that folder in Finder. If it is synced, check that the files have downloaded.
3. For earlier text, open Versions…. For an outside edit, open Changes.
4. If the app offers Unsaved Changes, review them before discarding the offer.

See Saving, Versions and sync for the recovery steps. If the app says it cannot save, address that message before moving or renaming the files.

If the page looks wrong

Check the line type first. A speech marked as Action will use direction formatting. Put the caret in the line and choose the right element.

If every cue or margin looks wrong, check the script format. Preview a PDF to see the pages you will send, including the opening material.

Send feedback

Choose Help → Send Feedback… in the app. Describe what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened. For a question or an idea, write it in your own words.

Your message is the only required field. Add an email address if you would like a reply. Include technical details is optional; View Details lets you read those details before sending.

Choose Send Feedback and wait for confirmation. If sending fails, the form keeps your text and offers Try Again or Copy Message. Closing the form keeps an unsent draft for later.
