Export a PDF or print

Save a PDF

1. Open the script-name menu and choose Export PDF…, or press ⌘⇧E.
2. Leave Part on Whole Script for the complete play.
3. Choose whether to include the title page, Characters page and opening notes.
4. Read through the preview. Check the first page, a long speech, and the ending.
5. Choose Export PDF…, then choose a filename and location in the save dialog.

Opening the preview does not create a PDF. You can close it and return to writing.

Choose pages

Use Pages to enter a range, or choose All Pages. A range keeps the script’s page numbers: pages 7 through 10 still show 7 through 10 in the output. Opening pages are selected separately.

The script’s format controls the layout. If margins or cue positions need changing, close the dialog, change the format, and preview again.

Export a character’s sides

Change Part to a character’s name. The preview now shows that part’s speeches, scene headings and cue context. Sides have their own page numbering.

Check the selection, then choose Export PDF…. Give the file a name that makes the part clear to the person receiving it.

Print the selected pages

Choose Print… in the same dialog, or open it with ⌘P. Review the part, page range and opening pages before continuing to the Mac’s print dialog.
